Where’s Willy? -Or Why Political Correctness Hurts Me on So Many Levels

There are so many things going on in the world today that require our attention. I imagine that this issue is not one of them. However…

I hate political correctness. I despise it. Political correctness is a pretense; it’s false and misleading; it’s like a house built with elephant dung but with white-washed walls. It may look nice, but your house is still full of shit.

Now, while reading a book pertaining to current affairs, I came across this:

The Swedish Nordic Battle Group has had to amend it’s age-old coat of arms due to the possibility of it being offensive, after complaints from female soldiers.

Hold your breath! Here is the original coat of arms:

Here is the amended crest:

“In 2007 the commander [of that military body] ruled that the lion’s penis had to be removed. Since civilian women are often sexually abused in the war zones of the world, they did not consider the depiction of a penis appropriate on a uniform worn into battle.”↓

As Christian Braunstein from the Swedish Army Commission quipped, “We were given the task of making sure the willy disappeared.” ζ

Just how cold, and how sensitive are they in Sweden?

It conjures up memories of a Seinfeld episode featuring George Costanza.

“I was in the pool! I was in the pool!”

On a more serious note, and please take note:  there is only so much shrinkage that go on before we end up emasculated, as men and as a society.

I mean after all the hustle and bustle is over and done with, and we give ourselves over to contemplation, we all owe who we are to ‘Willy’.
